Automotive Technician
A first-level vocational position accountable for performing preventative maintenance related to automotive equipment such as adding or changing fluids, lubricating the vehicle and equipment for service, replacing spark plugs and wires, cleaning and washing interior and exterior, and detailing. May supervise offenders.
Knowledge of practices, methods, tools, and equipment of the automotive trade. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical defects in motor vehicles. Ability to follow detailed procedures.
1 year of relevant experience or appropriate education.
