This is a first-level professional position responsible for appraising the least complex (per size and value) properties to determine market value. Employees may also provide limited technical assistance and guidance to county officials on maintenance plans, appraisal and assessment, methodology, mapping, data collection, property transfers, and sales analysis. At this level, employees assist higher level staff members on inspections of larger, more complex properties.
Knowledge of appraisal and property assessment techniques and methodologies, and property tax laws and regulations. Ability to read and interpret a variety of maps and property records. Ability to adapt to various work environments. Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations. Ability to provide a home office with equipment and furniture necessary to conduct business with the public. Ability to operate a motor vehicle, maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license, and have access to a personal vehicle; and travel extensively, including overnight travel, in the performance of assigned duties.
Associate degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
